"Through A Gallery Window" draws inspiration from a Julio Cortázar short story where a woman vanishes into a painting, leaving the narrator searching for her each time he visits the gallery. I loved that haunting, surreal concept and turned it into a song about loss, longing, and the way we keep looking for someone who’s no longer there.

"Division Street" is one piece of a larger story—a collection of songs following the lives of an expatriate jazz band in 1960s Paris, a project I hope to one day release as a full album. Each song focuses on a different character, and in this one, we meet Horatio, the trombone player, waking from a fever dream, trapped in a moment of reflection.
