Meet the host

Hospitality is the name of the game for Milwaukee PBS director of special events and volunteers, Andrea Rivera de Vega. Andrea loves working with people and making a difference in the community and that is clear in the work she is doing at Milwaukee PBS.

“I love my job for many reasons, but the biggest reason is that I get to help the people that I work with,” she explained. “I am able to help people access resources and programming that they may not know about, give ideas to production teams and create content from a different community perspective, and create new and exciting events for people to enjoy.”

Andrea holds two Bachelor degrees, one in Journalism from Argentina and a second in Spanish with an emphasis in Speech from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. She also holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from UW-Whitewater. Andrea’s career has provided her with extensive knowledge in project, volunteer and event development and management. She has organized large and small events in Milwaukee County as well as some nation-wide events she collaborated on. Some of the events she has worked on include several run and walks such as Home Run & Walk Covering the Bases for Foster Care, National Adoption Day and the National Heart Gallery exhibits just to name a few.
