Get ready to explore Ronal Reagan's youthful years on this trip to his hometown including the Dixon Telegraph Museum, his Boyhood Home and the Northwest Territory Historic Center.
8:30 am - Leave the Watertown Plank Park and Ride headed south.
8:50 am - Leave the New Berlin (Moorland/I43) Park and Ride.
Additional pick-ups along the way as needed.
11:00 am - Arrive at Flynnies Diner in Dixon for lunch (included).
12:15 -12:45 pm - The Dixon Telegraph Museum
The Dixon Telegraph Museum, located in the Dixon Telegraph offices, showcases the newspaper and its role in the history of Dixon.
12:45 pm - Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home, constructed in 1891. Ronald lived here as a youth starting in 1920. It was listed on The National Register of Historic Places in 1982. You will view a pre-tour film that details President Reagan’s family and environment in the 1920s and 30s and then take a docent-guided tour.
2:30-4:00 pm – The Northwest Territory Historic Center is located in the former elementary school that Ronald attended. It features many exhibits including the Ronald Reagan History Room, the restored Reagan classroom, Reagan movie posters, a WWII Airfield Diorama, the Abraham Lincoln History Room, and more.
4:15 pm - Dinner (included) in Dixon. After dinner, we head back home.
