May 1, 2024, 7:00 am –We fly out of Milwaukee to Arkansas. (Flight time is subject to change.) We meet our bus, which already has our luggage, at the airport and head for DeGray Lake Resort State Parkin Bismarck, Arkansas. Today is a travel and settle in day. We find our rooms and enjoy a group dinner (included) at the resort. There are plenty of things to do at the resort including relaxing by the lake and taking a dip in the pool.
May 2, 2024- We eat breakfast at the lodge, and we are off to do some diamond hunting!!! Bring clothes that can get dirty.
Some people walk along and find them, but some love the adventure of the dig! More than 35,000 diamonds have been found by park visitors since the Crater of Diamonds, which is located on a volcano,became an Arkansas state park in 1972. There is a finders-keepers policy. Which of us will pick up the biggest one? Dinner is included tonight.
May 3, 2024 – We eat breakfast and check out of the resort. Hot Springs National Park has a rich cultural past. The grand architecture of the historic bathhouses is equally matched by the beauty of nature which has been drawing people here for hundreds of years. Ancient thermal springs, mountain views, incredible geology, forested hikes, and abundant creeks – all in the middle of town – make Hot Springs National Park a unique and beautiful destination. You will partake in shopping, a historic museum, and a spa treatment where you experience the mineral water directly from the hot springs located in stunning turn-of-the-century architecture.
We gather together to enjoy dinner (included) and check into our Hot Springs Hotel for the night.
May 4, 2024- After breakfast you are free to tour Hot Springs for a couple of hours on your own before we head for Graceland. The home of Elvis Presley, the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll, is a highlight on this tour! After we check into the Guest House, designed by Pricilla Presley, we enjoy a group dinner (included) of Southern Comfort.There is an Elvis movie to enjoy at the hotel tonight.
May 5, 2024 – The day is yours to tour Graceland after breakfast (included) at the hotel. There is a shuttle from the hotel that takes you to Graceland. You can tour the following as many times as you would like today.

May 6, 2024 – Following breakfast at the hotel, we check-out and head for Springfield, IL. Springfield is all things, President Lincoln. Upon arrival we feast on Lincoln’s Favorite Dinner. It was served at the first inaugural ball and we sample it and the cake that Mrs. Lincoln won Abraham’s heart over. We check into our hotel for a good night’s sleep.
May 7, 2024 – After breakfast we check out of the hotel. We tour Lincoln’s neighborhood and house and watch a historical film at the Lincoln Home Visitor Center National Park. We head for our original pick-up points after the tour.
NOTE: stair climbing, above average walking, getting on and off the bus many times per day. Uneven surfaces and standing in one place during the tours, walking on/digging in the dirt.
