Milwaukee PBS

Due to the mandatory FCC spectrum auction, WMVS’ low power transmitter service has ended today.

Viewers who watch Milwaukee PBS over-the-air may remember needing to re-scan their TV sets in 2018, in order to continue receiving Milwaukee PBS channels. This was due to the FCC "repack," a mandatory channel realignment of television stations across the country in order to free up more bandwidth to expand wireless services.

During this channel realignment, Milwaukee PBS' low power channel was re-assigned to another broadcaster. This low power channel duplicates our WMVS programming - WMVS Channel 10.1, Create Channel 10.2 and PBS KIDS Channel 10.3. This low power channel appears on television sets as WMVS 10.11, Create 10.12 and PBS KIDS 10.13. As this is a low power channel, and only designed to reach the Milwaukee metro area, these channels are likely only received by those in or very close proximity to the City of Milwaukee.

As required by the FCC, Milwaukee PBS has stopped broadcasting on this low power channel. Viewers can watch WMVS Channel 10.1, PBS KIDS Channel 10.3 and Create Channel 10.2 to see the same content.
