Important Notes:

  • Be prepared to register for trip insurance at the time of the trip sign-up. You will be asked your date of birth. Trip insurance is available only at the time you book the trip.
  • There are no elevators at Cedar Crest Inn. You will have to walk up to the stairs to get to your room. We will do our best to accommodate. There is an extensive amount of walking and stair climbing. 
  • There are multiple buildings at Cedar Crest Bed and Breakfast. Rooms at the main house will be allocated first come first serve.

April 26:

  • Morning Departure – Fly from Milwaukee (with a transfer) and arrive in Spartanburg, SC, where your private coach awaits to take you to Asheville, North Carolina.
  • Soak in the scenic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains as anticipation builds during your journey. Your home for two nights is the historic Cedar Crest Inn, a grand Victorian mansion and architectural gem listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
  • Nestled on a wooded hillside next door to the Biltmore Estate, the inn is rich in ornate woodwork, stained glass, original fireplaces, and opulent period details that whisper stories from the Gilded Age.
  • With rooms that once welcomed Asheville’s elite, this beautifully preserved inn invites you to relax in elegant parlors or read by a fire in what was once the Gentlemen’s Study.
  • Dinner at Posana – Savor a modern farm-to-table meal at Asheville’s top-rated restaurant (I).

April 27: 

  • Begin with a delicious breakfast at the inn, then board the bus for a day immersed in Gilded Age splendor at The Biltmore Estate.
     

The Biltmore Highlights:

  • Arrive by 9:00 AM to begin your visit with a guided walking tour of the formal gardens and conservatory, designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted.
  • Stroll past seasonal blooms, shaded paths, and breathtaking vistas that helped George Vanderbilt fall in love with this land.
  • Explore the Stables and Biltmore Shops, followed by a gourmet lunch in the historic Stables Café (I)
  • At1:00 PM, embark on a self-guided audio tour of the 250-room Biltmore House, filled with priceless artwork, original furnishings, and jaw-dropping architecture.
    • Marvel at the banquet hall’s seven-story ceiling, Vanderbilt’s private library, hidden passageways, and lavish bedrooms.
  • 4:00 PM – Board the bus to Antler Hill Village, where you’ll enjoy free time to explore:
    • Enjoy a complimentary wine tasting at the Biltmore Winery
    • Visit the barn, farmyard, gardens, or relax at the ice cream shop
    • Dinner on your own with several casual options available in the village
  • 7:00 PM – Return to Cedar Crest Inn for a final evening surrounded by Victorian elegance.

April 28:

  • Enjoy one last delightful breakfast at the inn.
  • Bid farewell to Asheville as you board the coach for your return flight from Spartanburg, filled with memories of Southern charm and Biltmore beauty.
