East Troy Railroad Museum Dinner Train

Join us for a unique and unforgettable experience on a dinner train! Milwaukee PBS invites you to hop on our private railcar for a scenic journey around Walworth County. Indulge in a mouthwatering four-course meal and sip on their signature drinks like the refreshing julep, martinis, and Brandy Old Fashioned from the cash bar. 

Arrive at the East Troy Railroad Museum located at 2002 Church Street in East Troy, at 5 pm no ticket is needed, just provide your name. There is plenty of parking right by the depot. The train leaves the station at 5:30 pm and returns at 8 pm. 

Our engineer will share fascinating stories about the railway's history during the 2.5-hour excursion. Don't miss out on this exciting adventure!

Wabash and Erie Canal

In the 1830s to 1850s, canals were the fastest mode of transportation while carrying the maximum amount of weight. 

June 9, 2024

Join Milwaukee PBS this June for a fantastic day trip to Wabash, IN. Experience a canal ride, learn about the fascinating history of the Wabash & Erie Canal, tour a historic house, visit the Red Bridge Settlement, and indulge in a mouthwatering Canaler's Dinner.

7:30 am – Leave the Watertown Plank Park and Ride with a pick-up at the Racine Visitor Center at 8:10 am. We drive south to Wabash, IN with a picnic lunch (included) along the way.  

After the tour, we enjoy a historical Canaler’s Dinner consisting of a delicious beef stew, homemade cornbread, coleslaw, yummy apple crisp, and drinks. We depart for our original pick-up points after dinner.

Ronald Reagan Tour, Dixon, IL

Get ready to explore Ronal Reagan's youthful years on this trip to his hometown including the Dixon Telegraph Museum, his Boyhood Home and the Northwest Territory Historic Center.

8:30 am - Leave the Watertown Plank Park and Ride headed south. 

8:50 am - Leave the New Berlin (Moorland/I43) Park and Ride.

Additional pick-ups along the way as needed.

11:00 am - Arrive at Flynnies Diner in Dixon for lunch (included).

12:15 -12:45 pm - The Dixon Telegraph Museum

The Dixon Telegraph Museum, located in the Dixon Telegraph offices, showcases the newspaper and its role in the history of Dixon.

12:45 pm - Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home, constructed in 1891. Ronald lived here as a youth starting in 1920. It was listed on The National Register of Historic Places in 1982. You will view a pre-tour film that details President Reagan’s family and environment in the 1920s and 30s and then take a docent-guided tour. 

2:30-4:00 pm – The Northwest Territory Historic Center is located in the former elementary school that Ronald attended. It features many exhibits including the Ronald Reagan History Room, the restored Reagan classroom, Reagan movie posters, a WWII Airfield Diorama, the Abraham Lincoln History Room, and more.

4:15 pm - Dinner (included) in Dixon. After dinner, we head back home.

A natural limestone cave known for its stunning underground formations and unique geological features.

Join Milwaukee PBS for a thrilling one-day trip to Dubuque, Iowa! Experience a two-hour Mississippi River lunch excursion on the American Lady and explore the breathtaking Crystal Lake Cave. Don't miss out on this amazing adventure!

7:30 am – Leave the Watertown Plank Park and Ride with an additional pick-up in Pewaukee. We arrive in Dubuque to take the two-hour Mississippi River lunch (included) excursion on the American Lady.

Following our relaxing Mississippi River Cruise, we go below the cornfields of Iowa to beautiful Crystal Lake Cave. You will be fascinated by a guided tour of well-lit passages of intricate formations through over three-quarters of a mile of cave tunnels. You will witness the ongoing miracle that created this natural masterpiece of underground panorama. Discovered in 1868 by James Rice, a lead miner in search of ore-bearing stone, the cave was found to contain a fabulous collection of crystals. Dinner (included) is after the cave tour.
