The Bed & Breakfast Tour

Join "Profit For You Tours" and Milwaukee PBS on October 2-6, 2022, stay at three beautiful bed and breakfasts, experience their history and surrounding historical landmarks.

Tour the Oliver Mansion, the Polish Worker’s House, and the Studebaker Museum before you check into the Oliver Inn Bed and Breakfast in northern Indiana. Dine at the elegant Tippecanoe Restaurant where you will enjoy the historical fare.

On day two, check into the Hancock House in Dubuque where you will stay for two nights. Victorian Elegance comes alive for you nestled in the bluffs of Historic Dubuque. The Hancock House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, shows Queen Ann architecture at its finest.

On day three, visit the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium. Part aquarium, part museum, part science center, the museum inspires stewardship by creating educational experiences where history and rivers come alive. In the afternoon join a tour of the Verena Street Coffee Company and enjoy a coffee tasting.  Delight in a dinner at The Julien Hotel one of the finest Victorian Era hotels in the country. At Dusk – experience one of the highlights of our tour - the Mathias Ham House toured only by candlelight. Costumed interpreters provide guided tours of the site, sharing the rich history of Mathias Ham, the city of Dubuque, life on the Mississippi River, and life during the Victorian era during this candlelight tour.

On day four, visit The Dubuque Gardens and Arboretum; enjoy a self-guided tour and a catered lunch. Travel to Belleview, Iowa for the last bed and breakfast – Mont Rest. Steeped in a rich history including gambling and a fire, Mont Rest transports you back to a lost era of grace and beauty. This historic Inn is Iowa's most luxurious bed and breakfast. Built-in 1893, Mont Rest is nestled halfway up a 9-acre wooded bluff overlooking one of the most panoramic views of the mighty Mississippi River.

The last night before heading back to Milwaukee, delight in an amazing dinner dressed Downton Abbey-style from a selection of Victorian-style dresses and men’s evening attire.
