It’s MFA grad Palace Bryant’s final 24 hours in art school, and she is not going to the fucking graduation party! She needs to get back home to Chicago from Upstate New York, but that means surviving a hazy, hilarious, and hallucinatory odyssey, stumbling from academic critiques to backseat hookups. FRIDAY, FEB. 10FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!Crew up and test your knowledge of all things Black history with a special evening of trivia that includes an eclectic mixture of history and contemporary pop culture. Stay afterward to soak up the party vibes courtesy of DJ LoLo!SATURDAY, FEB. 11Black Love Through A Black Lens Shorts You do not have to watch a romance film to experience the expansive nature of Black love! Boundless, limitless and most importantly genreless, Black love exists in a variety of forms. Come join us Valentine’s Day weekend for an evening screening of short films that center and celebrate Black love in all of its multitudes. Shorts include: FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!Dedicated to affirming Black life and amplifying Black love beyond narratives of pain and suffering, Black Love Through a Black Lens centers on accurate representations of loving yet complicated intimate partner relationships. Join Dalychia and Rafaella of Afrosexology for a candid conversation about Black love, intimacy, sexuality, and relationships. This is not a presentation but an interactive discussion, so audience participation is required! DJ Bizzon sets the Valentine’s Day vibes along with poetry from Milwaukee’s finest wordsmiths.
