IN ITS 9TH YEAR, Milwaukee PBS'S 'MITTENS & MORE' COMMUNITY DRIVE CHALLENGED WITH MEETING INCREASING NEED

Milwaukee Public Television (Milwaukee PBS) will collect new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves to help families who are in need this winter. Mittens & More runs from October 10 - November 6, and is part of Milwaukee PBS's goal to enhance the quality of life for families throughout its viewing area. The Mittens & More drive collects donations of new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves from knitting and sewing groups, schools, church groups and service organizations as well as individuals. The greatest need is for children's sizes. Read More

As Veterans Day draws near, Milwaukee PBS celebrates Wisconsin's local heroes with Mettle & Honor: The Greatest Generation. The War Memorial Center, in collaboration with Emmy-award winning journalist Mark Concannon, captured the personal accounts of local WWII veterans who were involved in some of the war's most iconic moments. Milwaukee PBS and WUWM Collaborate on Sherman Park Special

Milwaukee Public Television (Milwaukee PBS) and WUWM 89.7 FM - Milwaukee Public Radio, as partners in public media, are working together on a special broadcast - SHERMAN PARK: THE AFTERMATH. Milwaukee PBS recorded the special edition of Lake Effect at WUWM, and the special will be broadcast concurrently on Milwaukee PBS and WUWM. Read More

BLACK NOUVEAU WINS TWO TOP HONORS FROM NABJ

With its 25th season premiering this fall, Milwaukee's own BLACK NOUVEAU won first place at the National Association for Black Journalists' (NABJ) Salute To Excellence Awards. NABJ is the largest organization for journalists of color in the nation.
