Great News! Milwaukee PBS' 10th Annual “Mittens & More” Community Service Drive was a huge success and will help keep hundreds of people warm this winter.
The grand total of NEW mittens, gloves, hats and scarves is 13,360. A vast majority of the items were beautifully hand knit, crocheted and sewn and will be given to 56 agencies and schools in southeastern Wisconsin and distributed to children and families in need.
Thanks to our partners: Colectivo Coffee, Clear Water Outdoor, The Country Springs Hotel, Ben Franklin Crafts, Frank’s Sewing Center, Fredrick’s Hallmark, Heaven and Earth Acupuncture, Ovation Sarah Chudnow and Milwaukee Area Technical College--Downtown, North, South and West Campuses for their support and serving as collection sites. This year, boxes for the drive were donated by The Home Depot.
Many sincere thanks to all individual donors, knitting and sewing guilds, groups and clubs who donated these lovely items. Your generosity, and in many cases, your talent for knitting and sewing were fantastic. Such special gifts from special people! Milwaukee PBS thanks you for all you have done. Listed below are the 56 agencies that received items.
