Depart October 8 from the Hales Corners Park and Ride heading for Dubuque, IA and arrive at the dock of the Spirit of Dubuque for a sightseeing tour and luncheon cruise. Following lunch, we tour the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium. Check in at the Hotel Julian. Enjoy some down time, then board the bus for our Progressive Dinner. On day two we will head to the Fenelon Place Elevator to the observation deck, offering views of Downtown Dubuque and the neighboring states of Wisconsin and Illinois. The base of the elevator serves as an anchor to the Cable Car shopping district, which features locally-owned shops, selling antiques, used books, pottery and much more. The elevator has been labeled the “shortest steepest scenic elevator in the world” and dates back to the late 1800’s.
At 10:30 am we bid farewell to Dubuque and depart for Galena, IL. Then you will have time to browse the shops in downtown Galena. We will stop for a delightful end of the trip dinner then head home to Milwaukee.
