MATC's TV and Video Production and eProduction Students produce Live @ the Lakefront, an ongoing summer project. Current and recently graduated students come together as a crew to work alongside Milwaukee PBS staff and faculty to bring live concerts via live-stream on the Milwaukee PBS website. Sponsors for the project are Milwaukee Rotary Club, Discovery World, Milwaukee Area Technical College and Milwaukee PBS.
Through hands-on learning, students develop television and streaming skills including how to set up a field-shoot outside of the studio, working with a team and directing a live performance in a creative way that lets the audience feel like you are right at the concert. Student producers get class credit for this elective.
Live at the Lakefront is an educational experience that allows a much greater audience to experience a mix of genres from musical groups from around the country.
